In October of 2017, voters rejected the liberal policies being pushed by progressive Social Democrats. In the wake of their failed policies, voters overwhelming handed the leadership mantle to Sebastian Kurz.
As Austria’s chancellor and head of the People’s Party, Kurz has been swift to restore the traditional policy positions that have made the small EU nation vibrant, secure and culturally rich.
Forming a coalition government with the nationalist Freedom Party, Chancellor Kurz built the strongest conservative bloc in recent history. With policies aimed at rooting out radical Muslim extremism before innocent lives are lost, Kurz has taken strides to expel anti-Austria sentiments and Imams that preach hate.
