Chuck Schumer’s Sage Advice for Democrats Running for Re-election This Year: Be More than Anti-Trump

Since Donald Trump took office, the backbone of the Democratic Party has been little more than obstruction. Rather than putting forth their own goals, plans, and legislation, most Democrats in Congress have chosen to focus their efforts on challenging everything that Trump does. Now, however, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is warning Democrats that, if they want to be elected again, they’re going to have to offer more to their constituents than the promise to continue obstructing Trump.

The Democratic Party becoming the party of obstruction certainly hasn’t been good for the nation. This is especially true given the reckless and sometimes illegal obstruction we are learning about from the FISA memo and other FBI leaks. Suffice it to say that public patience for the Democrats obstructing Trump is reaching an all-time low.

In the end, this situation is a win-win for conservatives. If Democrats continue focusing all of their efforts on stopping Trump, they are going to get wiped out in 2018 and 2020. If they shift their efforts and start actually focusing on what’s best for the country, more can get done and everyone wins. Either way, the results are positive for conservatives.
