DNC Turns on Debbie Wasserman-Schultz

Is it reckoning time for embattled Florida Congresswoman and former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz? Florida DNC member Nikki Barnes seems to think so, or at least that’s how it appears from this clip wherein she’s interviewed by Fox’s Stuart Varney.

Parroting the Democrats’ newfound “Better Deal” language, Barnes posits Wasserman Schultz as out of touch with the Democrats’ progressive wing personified by politicians such as Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Varney particularly questions Barnes about the recent scandal involving Wasserman Schultz’s IT consultant Imran Awan, who is one of three brothers accused of grossly overbilling Democratic members of Congress for IT services that were subpar, stealing computer equipment and in some cases even subjecting classified information to prying eyes outside of Congress.

The fact that the Pakistani-born brothers still have close ties to their former nation and that Imran was recently caught trying to flee back to that country has created a loud stir in Washington as Republicans and Democrats alike have called for an official investigation. There are also questions about whether the Awans may have been blackmailing Democrats using the information that was on their computers.

Watch as Varney attempts to get to the bottom of these issues with DNC member Barnes.
