Game Changer: Trump’s Plan for a Space Force

It’s been nearly 50 years since Apollo 11 landed on the moon and the United States has made only soft progressive in terms of space exploration in the wake of that historic moment.

Shuttles that orbit the planet, space stations and un-manned crafts landing on distant planets are a far cry from the bold initiative America took during the space race. But under Pres. Donald J. Trump, America may once again assert itself as a trailblazer in the last frontier.

In this clip, Fox News host Shannon Bream reports on late breaking news that the president is putting together a new initiative being dubbed a “space force.” The potential sixth branch of the armed forces would be created to protect Americans from above.

Joining Fox News, Republican U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn provides vital information about the United States with regards to a little-known but urgent space initiative. Pitting American national security against long-standing rival Russia and emerging threat China, the U.S. has fallen behind.

Unlike the United States that effectively sat on its collective hands during the Obama Administration, Russia and China have made significant gains developing military assets that could be put into space.

As the Colorado congressman points out, America cannot fall behind a second space race against Russian and now Chinese counterparts.

Take a few moments and find out what Pres. Trump is proposing and why it’s imperative to national security.
