Jeff Sessions Future in Trump’s Administration Question

Despite the fact that Jeff Sessions was a key supporter of Donald Trump and played an important role in his campaign, the future of Sessions as attorney general is very much in doubt. In fact, it is largely due to these very things that Sessions now finds himself in a position where his fitness to continue serving as attorney general has been called into question.

Since the moment Sessions moved to recuse himself from the Russian investigation, it has been all downhill for the former Alabama senator. Sessions maintained that his involvement in the Trump campaign inhibited him from leading an unbiased investigation into it. Warranted or not, however, his recusal certainly wasn’t the outcome Trump was hoping for out of his attorney general.

To make matters worse for Sessions, many are disappointed with the lack of aggression he has shown in investigating the wrongdoings of Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. As a final strike against Sessions, his move to crack down on states that have legalized marijuana isn’t likely to win him many friends at a time when over 60% of Americans believe the plant should be legalized, and it could put his party in a tough spot heading into the 2018 midterms.

Suffice it to say that Sessions faces an uphill battle holding onto his job in the Trump administration. To learn more about the future of Jeff Sessions as attorney general, be sure to check out the video below.
