Since President Trump took office, Democrats have been freaking out regarding the number of executive actions he has signed. They have stated he is overstepping his power and abusing his right as the American President.
It is funny they are saying that now, as Democrat presidents have signed into action their fair share of executive orders. FDR signed by far the most executive actions (well over 3,000), more than all other presidents combined. Comparing any modern president to FDR would not prove fair though since he was a three term president. Instead, it is necessary to look at the last several presidents and see how each has used their executive power as president.
First, it is necessary to look at the number of executive orders signed within the first three weeks of being president. Donald Trump has signed a total of 12 executive orders within his first three weeks of being president. Many of these have been aimed at reducing costs in the United States, and improving safety—nothing terribly controversial.
Democrats say this is an abuse of power, yet Obama signed 14 executive orders within his first three weeks. Jimmy Carter, a one term president, signed in a total of 320 executive orders, which is more than George W. Bush, a two term president.
So where have liberals been over the last several presidents? Watch the video to learn more about executive actions and how these have been used in the past.
