Tensions between the United States and North Korea have been on the rise in recent weeks. North Korea has continually threatened the United States, saying it would launch nuclear weapons against the U.S. if provoked.
The United States has not backed down and now both Russia and China have even started to talk to North Korea in order to alleviate the tension. Additionally, few countries want to fall into a third world war over North Korea. However, the United States is not taking North Korea’s threats lightly.
Missiles and other fired weapons travel at varying rates of speed. However, some are supersonic and can travel faster than the speed of sound. Even if North Korea had the ability to fire a nuclear weapon from a base at the mainland United States the U.S. would still have more than enough time to shoot it down.
However, if North Korea decides to skip an attack on South Korea and instead go straight for the United States, it likely will fire a nuclear missile towards Hawaii, the nearest body of American soil. Due to this, Hawaii has been forced to make security plans in case of a nuclear attack. What is Hawaii doing? Check out the video to find out more.
