Those that hoped Barack and Michelle Obama would step gracefully out of the spotlight following the end of Obama’s second term are going to be left disappointed. Recently, the Obamas signed a multi-million dollar deal with the streaming service Netflix to produce a variety of shows, documentaries, and films.
While the exact content of these films and shows remains unknown, it doesn’t take a clairvoyant to guess what Barrack and Michelle will likely do with their new-found platform. Over his eight years as President, Obama made every effort to push liberal doctrine while at the same time undermining conservative ideals. As a civilian now, unhinged from the political burdens of being President, Obama is arguably freer than ever before to push his dogmatic opinions.
It comes as little surprise, though, that Obama would search out an opportunity to continue making his mark on the world. In the still relatively short time that he has been President, Donald Trump has managed to undo almost everything that Barrack Obama accomplished in eight years – from Obamacare to the Iran nuclear deal and beyond – bulldozing his legacy and effectively erasing his name from history. This upheaval of everything Obama put in place has been so effective that a series of Netflix shows and movies may very well end up being the primary thing that the former President is known for.
