Corporations around America are still getting used to their shiny new tax cuts. The extra capital has already proven a boon for the country. Jobs are up. Pay is up. GDP growth is up. It’s everything we hoped it could be and more. But, don’t worry! The far left has already taken matters into their own hands.
In their last bastion that hasn’t yet crumbled, Seattle, the progressives are correcting the federal government’s mistake and using local taxes to punish corporations for daring to be, well, companies.
Ironically, it is the home of extremely liberal companies Amazon and Starbucks that is heading the new tax. They couldn’t enjoy the new tax code for half a year before the city that they have been propping up for years attacked them directly. Amazon has already responded by making plans to reduce their future investments in Seattle. In the end, large companies are more interested in their own success than the petty politics of any one city.
How did it come to this? In short, Seattle is scraping every nook and cranny they can find for more money to combat the housing crisis — a crisis that the government created. It’s a giant mess, and bigger government is only going to exacerbate the situation.
This video is short, but it still covers the major details. Watch it, and you’ll see the true nature of the problem in Seattle and what to expect next.
