The election of Donald Trump as President of the United States was an effort by the American people to shake up the Washington establishment and to change the way the country works for the better. The president has tried to do that since Day 1 of his presidency. Some of his plans have gone through, others, including his plan to go after illegal immigrants and prevent undocumented individuals from entering the country has encountered constant roadblocks from Democrats. Despite all of this, Donald Trump continues to push ahead with a new agenda for the country. However, a president is not able to do it all. He needs the support of a Congress that is willing to act.
Recently, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan gave a speech at the NAM 2017 Manufacturing Summit on exactly what the Republican held Congress wants to do in the next several years. During the speech, he promised a bold agenda that not only will help make the country great again, but to help restore confidence both within the country and within its leaders from the American’ people.
Most polls do indicate the American public has lost faith in its elected officials. There is more bickering in Washington than ever before and seemingly less and less is now getting done. It is the hope of Paul Ryan to provide this confidence to legal citizens of the United States. Watch Speaker Ryan talk about what this administration is doing to restore confidence.
