Starbucks Vows to Hire 10,000 Refugees over American Workers

Recently, President Donald Trump announced a travel ban to seven countries for the next 90 days until the administration can retool an acceptable screening process for immigrants.

Many liberal news publications around the United States declared this as a ban on Muslims. Realistically it is just the restructuring of accepting immigrants so everyone can be properly vetted before being granted acceptance into the United States.

With so much unnecessary backlash about the 90 day travel ban, companies decided to hop onto the anti-Trump bandwagon in order to stir up public support. Starbucks went public, stating it would hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years (instead of American workers). This was seen as a rousing F. U. to Donald Trump. The funny thing is, if liberals had any brains, they’d see this as a complete capitalistic money grab.

Starbucks in its statement said it would hire 10,000 refugees worldwide around the world. Off the cuff that seems like a lot. But here’s the deal. There are over 11,500 Starbucks just in the United States. In total around the world, there are over 25,000 locations.

This means over the next five years, every Starbucks worldwide will hire a grand total of 0.4 refugees. That’s 0.08 refugees per store per year. Doesn’t sound so gracious now, does it. Sounds more like Starbucks is a greedy corporate corporation trying to feed of the public good will.

This isn’t the first time Starbucks pandered to the public as it previously stated it would hire 10,000 veterans. How has that gone over so far? Check out the video to find out.
