State Department Issues Warning for Travelers to Europe

The United States’ State Department released a travel warning to American travelers heading overseas this summer. Whether visiting Mexico, Egypt or Malaysia, the department does what it can to inform travelers of possible threats in order to keep everyone safe. Typically these warnings go out to third world countries where lawlessness abounds. The warnings can vary from watching out for certain areas of town to food and water conditions with potentially dangerous side effects. However, these warnings very rarely are made regarding places like Europe.

Europe is often seen as one of the safest destinations in the world for American travelers. In a recent study, the three safest countries in the world are Norway, Finland and Singapore. Beyond these three, the vast majority of top 10 nations are all found in centralized Europe.

Despite all of this, ISIS has continued to make inroads throughout the world, including Europe. Although ISIS in the Middle East is starting to dwindle with continual attacks by the United States and other military forces, there still are cells and individuals working on their own to cause terror in civilized, peaceful regions of the world.

This has led to a slew of attacks in Europe, all of which have produced deadly results. So what does the State Department suggest American travelers do? Should they alter plans, stay at home or do something else? Watch the video to find out more.
