Top Democrats Call for Nancy Pelosi and Democrat Leaders to Retire

The Democrats may be torn, but they’re not broken. At least, not yet.

That’s the conclusion that NBC’s Casey Hunt and The Hill’s Reid Wilson seem to come around to in this frank clip from MSNBC wherein they discuss what’s been going wrong within the top ranks of the Congressional Left.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is stubbornly refusing to step down or relinquish the leadership position she currently holds, despite her presence clearly rankling lower-ranking members of her own party and many Democratic voters. Democrats have to contend with the fact that, despite her epic unfavorability ratings, Pelosi remains one of her party’s top-tier fundraisers, so forcing her to step down could be a shot in the foot for liberals.

On the other hand, Pelosi can be pointed to as a clear reason why Democrats have lost many legislative battles as of late, so the Democrats are between a rock and a hard place. Many say it’s time for a new generation of leaders to replace the old guard, but it seems clear that the political divide in the Democratic Party hasn’t yet reached the tipping point that it has in the Republican Party.

Watch as top Democratic operatives call on Nancy Pelosi to resign.
