Virginia Church to Remove George Washington Memorial Plaque

Should we erase George Washington from the history books?

According to President Donald Trump, this may in fact be in danger of happening, and this clip from Fox & Friends shows that indeed, in some parts of the country, some organizations are already taking such matters into their own hands.

In Alexandria, Virginia, Christ Church is a solemn house of worship that America’s first president was a founding member of more than 200 years ago. As such, it’s a famous landmark in Alexandria and within American history itself.

But now, that history is being challenged as the church has decided to remove plaques honoring the nation’s first leader — one of the most famous of the Founding Fathers. “The Vestry has unanimously decided that the plaques create a distraction in our worship space and may create an obstacle to our identity as a welcoming church and an impediment to our growth and to full community with our neighbors,” read a letter from church officers to its congregation.

Is this what liberals want for America’s future?

Fox contributor David Webb debates with journalist and radio host Jamila Bey, with the network’s Brian Kilmeade playing referee about whether this move by the church is the correct one. Clearly, the two media figures have a lot to say, and sometimes Kilmeade has to wade into the vigorous discussion. Even former NBA great Charles Barkley makes a cameo with his two cents on the issue! Watch, as the lively debate turns downright cacophonous at times.
