How low did the country sink before Donald Trump became president?
If you look at the track record — not the speeches or the public persona — of former President Barack Obama, what’s visible is abysmal.
Domestically, Obama was one of the worst modern presidents because he delivered just the opposite of many of his campaign promises. Instead of being a uniter of the nation’s people, Obama became one of the country’s greatest dividers, cutting the nation into opposing segments based on race, gender, sexual preference and any other number of differences. Obama enacted economic policies that destrroyed the middle class, then blamed any injustices on the “inequities” of “the system.”
Now that he’s gone from office, the disaster of Obamacare continues to haunt Americans who can no longer afford their basic health insurance premiums. In fact, unless you have what’s called a “catastrophic” condition, the numbers for Obamacare just don’t add up for most enrollees; young people, in particular, would rather pay the penalty for not being insured than be forced to pay Obamacare premiums. And there’s no end in sight for the double-digit premium increases that have been instituted ever since the program began.
As The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro says in this revelatory clip, Obama’s worst excesses were in the area of foreign policy. In the final year of his presidency, Obama dropped 26,171 bombs on seven countries. That’s one bomb for every 20 minutes of his presidency; Obama at one point even boasted, “I’m very good at killing people.” Foreign policy-wise, his reign was a disaster, with the U.S. leading failed or useless incursions into Libya, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and numerous other lands. And that’s to say nothing of foreign aid handed out to repugnant terrorist groups like ISIS and the al-Nusra Front or the ultranationalist government in Ukraine.
