Bill Gates is a rather connected individual. He created Microsoft, which in turn has helped him to become one of the wealthiest individuals in the entire world, he has also given back to local communities, donating hundreds of millions of dollars to schools and other non-profits around the world.
He does tend to keep his political ideas and sides private, although like anyone, he may provide his insights or ideas from time to time. When it comes to people who are worth hundreds of billions of dollars, he does more good than many. Yes, tens of millions of people die around the world annually of natural causes, but this is in reference to something specific.
