Democrats Finally Admit DACA Isn’t Legal

Gotcha!

Before Hurricanes Harvey and Irma came along, it seemed like all the talk in Washington was about President Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status conferred on 800,000 young illegal immigrants by ex-President Obama.

When Trump announced his decision to end DACA in six months pending Congressional legislation to act otherwise, he was blasted by critics on both the Left and the Right (although admittedly, many more were on the political Left). However, one only has to take a closer look at Trump’s decision to see he was clearly in the right.

That’s because, at a basic level, DACA as it was implemented — by means of an executive order signed by Obama — defied the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution states that the president cannot enact legislation unilaterally, and so, granting the rights that Obama did to these illegals was, in effect, illegal itself. That’s the conclusion multiple experts in the law have come to, and even former President Obama himself has admitted that his order may not be Constitutional.

When Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Trump’s policy, there was outrage voiced all over Washington. But those protesting Trump’s action are only now starting to come to the same conclusion as Obama and these many other legal experts.

Watch, as in this clip, even Democratic battle-ax Senator Dianne Feinstein of California admits that DACA is “on shaky ground” from a legal perspective.
