Deputy Secretary of State ADMITS on Live TV Some of the Iranian Payment Will Go to Terrorist Groups

You may have always suspected it, but here it is: an admission by a government official that we helped fund terrorism — against ourselves and other countries. In January and February of this year, according to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. sent $1.3 billion in non-U.S. currency on unmarked transport planes to one of the world’s largest sponsors of terrorism — Iran.

In this clip, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is supposed to be knowledgeable about the government’s foreign actions, claims he hasn’t read the Journal’s report. Instead, he says the flown-in payments represented money that was owed to Iran as part of funds that were frozen when sanctions were placed on the country years ago.

Much of that money, Blinken says, would likely go into the struggling Iranian economy. But when pressed, Blinken admits that some of it — some! — might go toward sponsoring terrorism, via funding of extremist militia groups such as Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Without citing any sources, Blinken still tried to claim that “virtually all” of the money went to non-military recipients.

If Blinken didn’t read the report on what actually happened and can’t name any of his information sources, then his answers here are just an opinion — an opinion that clearly reflects the inability of the Obama administration to come to grips with reality.
