Are there forces in the White House working against the Trump agenda?
For some political observers, that’s the current consensus, and in this clip, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a former deputy advisor to the president, readily agrees. Gorka, who worked for ex-White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, tells viewers that the Trump team that took over when the president was inaugurated is slowly being transformed into a group that’s pro-globalist and deeply tied into the “Deep State.”
What this means is that the president is becoming very constrained in terms of what policies he can enact of his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) agenda. Some proof of this is the president’s recent policy reversal on Afghanistan, whereby he’s decided to send more troops into America’s longest-running war, despite most analysts saying the prospects of any kind of American victory there are next to none.
Whether or not Trump will get the wall on the southern U.S. border with Mexico built is an open question, and equally up in the air are additional anti-immigration measures. While the president can point to some economic victories — especially in the area of jobs — he’s been frustrated by his aide’s lack of commitment to battling China on trade.
In the meantime, the national debt continues to swell above $20 trillion, and one wonders whether Trump will be able to drain even a small part of the Washington “swamp” he had promised to eradicate. Watch as Gorka discusses his departure from the White House and what comes next with Fox’s Sean Hannity.
