NY Driver Shouts “Allah” while Beating Innocent Jewish Old Man

File this one under the “Diversity is our strength” mantra. A surveillance camera in Brooklyn captured a brutal assault as a Muslim cab driver chases down a 62-year-old Hasidic Jewish man on his way to synagogue. Witnesses heard the Muslim cabbie shouting “Allah!” repeatedly as he knocked the man to the ground and began raining punches down on him. The beating only stopped when another Jewish man lured the attacker away (police caught the attacker as he was chasing the second Jewish man).

In the words of that great workplace violence scholar Barack Obama, we may never know the attacker’s motive!

If that incident alone doesn’t outrage you, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s efforts to downplay the attack surely will. The DA’s office refused to charge the cabbie, Farrukh Afzal, with a hate crime. The DA initially charged Afzal with simple assault for the unprovoked attack which was clearly motivated by his terrorist religion of Islam.

It was only after several days of public outcry from the Jewish community in New York that the District Attorney finally upgraded the charges to a hate crime. Isn’t diversity great? A Muslim can beat you up and prosecutors will do everything they can to avoid offending other Muslims. The Muslims might get mad and blow your house up, or shoot up a school, if you point out that their terrorist religion promotes violence.

Check out the surveillance video below in this clip from One News Now and see for yourself whether the attack qualifies as a hate crime.
