Republicans Should Push for Sen. Elizabeth Warren to Run against Trump in 2020

Is “Pocahontas” going to run for president in 2020? That’s the speculation brought up by Fox’s Stuart Varney in this probing clip wherein he interviews Republican former Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire about the national appeal of Democratic Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Knowing which states President Trump was able to capture in 2016 and knowing how the Democrats are tending to lean politically (not to mention Warren’s own progressive proclivities), Ayotte is able to put together a pretty good hypothesis regarding Warren’s possible chances.

Of late, Warren has been making noises that have gotten political observers scratching their heads and wondering if she won’t try to walk a few miles in Hillary Clinton’s shoes in 2020. Warren in the past has denied she has any plans in this direction, but that’s standard talk for politicians who later turn out to be candidates.

In the top echelon of the Democratic Party, only Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders (who technically has reverted to being an independent for now) and former Vice President Joe Biden have been able to raise this amount of conjecture about whether they might run for the presidency. Of course, Warren is slightly younger than both of them and certainly is more feisty. Perhaps she’ll end up being one of their running mates? (A Sanders/Warren ticket could potentially be formidable to confront.)

Watch as Ayotte’s assessment of Warren seems fairly spot-on.
