The Swamp Comes to Failed Speaker Mike Johnson’s Rescue

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) mounted an effort this week to kick Mike Johnson out of the House Speaker’s chair. In a not-at-all-surprising move, the Democrats came to Johnson’s rescue and prevented his ouster.

When Kevin McCarthy was booted as House Speaker last October, Republicans went through multiple rounds of voting before finally settling on Mike Johnson as a “compromise” candidate. Little did they know.

In the few short months that he’s been serving in the role of Speaker, Johnson has broken every promise that he made to conservatives to earn their backing. He hasn’t released the January 6 tapes. He hasn’t passed single-subject bills.

And it gets worse from there.

Ever since Johnson was taken into a mysterious meeting with the FBI a few months ago, the formerly supposed “Christian” House Speaker has turned into a rabid, bloodthirsty Democrat whose voting record is indistinguishable from Ilhan Omar’s.

Johnson has voted to fully fund abortion, trans surgeries for children, and every global warming fantasy on Joe Biden’s wish list—not to mention sending billions in foreign aid to other countries while doing nothing to secure America’s borders.

While the effort to kick Johnson out failed, thanks to Democrats’ votes, it’s worth watching Marjorie Taylor Greene’s opening speech when she makes the case against Johnson. He’s been guilty of betraying conservative principles far more than we were aware of.

Watch as Rep. Greene gives a damning report on Johnson’s performance as House Speaker:
