Trump’s New Media Directors Promises to Root Out All White House Leakers

Welcome to Anthony Scaramucci’s binary world!

In the “On” state in this world, an employee keeps their job and continues working; in the “Off” state, they’re fired. That’s the message from new White House Director of Communications Anthony Scaramucci, who makes extremely clear in this clip exactly what his plans are for any White House staffer who wants to continue leaking information to the press.

As President Trump tweeted on July 22, the biggest problem that this presidential administration has faced from its first day has been embarrassing leaks to the media about people, policies and past dealings that have forced the president and his staff to play catch-up, explain post-facto or bring things into public view that likely should stay private. Some examples of leaks include Trump’s being upset by Steve Bannon appearing on the cover of Time magazine and the president’s admitting that he had to confirm the specifics of the U.S.-Russia New START missile treaty while he was on the phone with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Leakers have given the media and the Democrats their juiciest stories to date, and as Scaramucci threatens, all staffers underneath him will be fired without reservation if that’s what it takes to stop unauthorized releases of White House information. Watch as he lays out the new administration rules to Face the Nation’s John Dickerson.
