Vanity Fair Snubs Melania Trump from Best Dresses List

Was this really necessary?

Every year, Vanity Fair magazine publishes a list of what it calls the International Best-Dressed People, who are drawn from the ranks of entertainers, politicians and royalty. Honorees on its list have included Michelle and Barack Obama (a whopping three times!), French President Emmanuel Macron and Macron’s wife Brigitte and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

But while other media outlets such as Harper’s Bazaar, USA Today and the Philadelphia Enquirer have all made notable mention of Melania Trump’s fashionable wardrobe that she’s displayed on such occasions as the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, her nine-day overseas trip with President Trump in May and the hosting of world leaders at the Trumps’ Mar-a-Lago resort, Vanity Fair callously chose to exclude Melania from its list this year without any explanation.

Of course, the real story is that Vanity Fair parent company Condé Nast is part-and-parcel of the mainstream media that’s chosen virtually as a solid bloc to attack and demean President Trump and the First Family whenever it can get away with it. From making fun of Melania’s former career as a model to her accented speech, magazines like Vanity Fair have not only ignored positive contributions the First Lady has offered — such as supporting the Paralyzed Veterans of America and The Boys’ Club of New York — they’ve chosen to take cheap potshots at one of our nation’s most visible women and female role models.

Melania is regularly seen wearing high-fashion items by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Jason Wu and Ralph Lauren, but apparently, for Vanity Fair, its management-directed agenda is more important than treating the world’s dignitaries impartially.
