What Should Piss Off Every Conservative about the Susan Rice Unmasking Scandal

This is why Susan Rice matters! Veteran political consultant Dick Morris makes salient points in this clip dealing with former National Security Advisor Susan Rice “unmasking” Trump transition team officials’ allegedly illicit discussions with Russians.

The unmasking process Morris refers to is in place to protect the identities of private American citizens who might be caught in surveillance operations talking to suspicious foreign nationals. While the surveillance itself can legally proceed, unless there’s a vital reason for doing so, the names of such Americans cannot be revealed for privacy reasons.

Susan Rice is accused of obtaining the names of the citizens — Trump transition team members — from the National Security Agency and sharing them with officials in the Obama administration (possibly including President Obama himself). Some of this information was also leaked to the press.

At a minimum, this action needs to be investigated by a Congressional committee, and probably, Ms. Rice should testify under oath in front of that committee. At a maximum, a special prosecutor may be needed to grill not only Ms. Rice, but others in the Obama administration (including Barack Obama) about why these actions occurred, by whose orders they were authorized and whom the information was shared with.

This blatantly illegal activity is far worse than the accusations Democrats have made about Russia influencing the 2016 election, which at this point are based on nothing but hot air. Watch as Morris eloquently sums up his take on this issue and why it’s important not to let it go.
