Barack Obama’s Smithsonian Portrait Revealed and the Internet Reacts

The Obamas are back in the news and this time it’s not because of their politics, at least not in an immediately obvious way. The National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian unveiled its official portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama, and the paintings almost immediately became the subject of a much newer form of art – the meme.

Ben Shapiro reveals a good sense of humor along with his usual insight in this video as he talks about the flood of memes that have followed the portraits’ unveiling. One of the memes that hit the twitterverse is of Barack Obama wearing a suit a couple of years ago that looks just like the background in his portrait. More than one commentator has noted the pattern of that background looks a lot like the ivy at Obama’s beloved White Sox Wrigley field.

Other popular tweets have included: Sean Spicer peeking out at Obama. Obama wearing headphones and peering through field glasses at a game. And, Obama sitting in front of a Hawaiian version of the famous ivy walls.

Be sure and watch the video to discover which meme is Shapiro’s favorite and why. Also, learn why Ben Shapiro is really “peeved” at Obama’s claim of being a White Sox fan.
