Donald Trump doesn’t have the greatest relationship with the liberal run media. This isn’t the fault of the president though, as it is more about reporters taking advantage of their placement with the president and asking questions that are loaded with unfair assumptions, are trap questions or simply have nothing to do with the event at hand.
That recently took place when President Trump and the Prime Minister of Japan held a news briefing at the conclusion of their weekend long visit. It is common for the leaders of different countries to come visit when we elect a new president. They meet to connect personally and politically—every country wants to have a good relationship with the U.S. President Trump will likely do the same thing in the next year, he will travel to France after they elect a new PM.
In the very first question asked of President Trump following an open discussion with the Japanese Prime Minister, a reporter asked a question regarding the 9th Circuit Court’s decision to go against the president’s travel ban. This question had absolutely nothing to do with the press conference with the PM of Japan, which made it completely out of line.
The reporter was challenging the president in front of a foreign head of state. Showing respect in Japan is an extremely important part of the culture, so this not only challenged Donald Trump but served as an insult as well. Watch how Donald Trump shut the reporter down.
