CNN’s Ratings Worse than Nick at Night Cartoons

CNN’s Chris Cuomo is merely an actor — and a bad one at that. Viewers may be quickly reminded of the phony populist appeals and fake smiles of #NeverTrump-er Mitt Romney when they watch him. It gets more and more obvious every day, but as this clip with Fox’s Tucker Carlson and Trump administration advisor Kellyanne Conway shows, Cuomo is forced to be evasive on his own show, and his body language and facial expressions prove that he’s just hiding behind lies and excuses as Conway hammers home truth after truth.

In fact, at one point, Cuomo resorts to an “it’s my show, so I can say what I want” rationalization, like a spoiled 5-year-old child. The fact of the matter is that CNN is ethically bankrupt, and talking head Cuomo is the perfect evidence of that. Not only can’t Cuomo refute any of Conway’s points, he’s forced to go on the defensive when she repeatedly exposes the network’s approach for what it is — bought-and-paid-for partisan ballyhoo masquerading as journalism.

While Cuomo attempts to express outrage at the much-ado-about-nothing meeting between Donald Trump, Jr. and a Russian lawyer, Conway points out that the president’s son’s efforts to get “opposition research” are not out of the ordinary. In fact, “opposition research” on a competing political candidate is part and parcel of any solid political campaign. There’s absolutely nothing wrong or illicit about a campaign’s trying to get such research on its opposition. Just as military strategists use spies to get information about enemy movements, the use of “oppo research” a timeworn tactic of all political campaigns, and you can be 100-percent certain that the Hillary Clinton campaign would have attended just as controversial a meeting as Donald Trump, Jr.’s if a carrot had been dangled regarding dirt on now-President Trump.

Watch as Fox’s Carlson can’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of Cuomo and how the latter had to go on Facebook later to make up for how badly his interview with Conway went; it should be increasingly clear to anyone watching that CNN is badly in need of a complete overhaul as a news network.
