In an odd twist of fate, one school system has decided to go full-blown Grinch by snatching Christmas celebrations away from children. Whether officials at the school are zealots demanding an end to secular-style gift giving or fancy themselves as living, breathing incarnations of the Dr. Seuss character remains to be seen. But young children are being forced to beg for the holy holiday’s return. In the end, it also seems very anti-Christian.
In this Next News Network exclusive, host Gary Franchi and Josh Bernstein break a stunning story that Christmas has become too commercial for one school to continue celebrating it. A so-called “Father Christmas” announcement was made to pupils that they had to prove they were not caught up in the commercial aspects of the Christian holiday.
The secondary school children have already lost their Christmas cards and other celebratory items because the administration is strong-arming them to feel the true meaning of Jesus’ birthday. No Christmas carols will be sung, no Santa Claus cookies will be nibbled until Scrooge-like school officials are convinced that children in their district know the right way to praise Jesus leading up to the sacred day.
If you think this is a twisted Medieval idea that Christians should suffer to be happy, you might not be alone. But if you want to hear more on the subject, watch this video.
