Democratic Party candidates prevailed in two recent gubernatorial elections in the states of Virginia and New Jersey. These states certainly aren’t Republican strongholds. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both carried them. Before electing Chris Christie, New Jersey had put four straight Democrats in the governor’s mansion.
Despite these facts, the mainstream media’s enthusiastic reaction was boringly predictable. Left-leaning outlets began proclaiming the President Trump led Republicans should start worrying about the 2018 mid-term elections. So, one would think high ranking liberal leaders would share these sentiments, right? The answer is a resounding negative.
Bernie Sanders recently said, “The Democratic Party needs to make fundamental changes.” He firmly feels the party of the Clintons is telling young people and working class people that they’re unwanted. The Senator from Vermont passionately said this is “a recipe for failure.”
Former Vice President Joe Biden isn’t confident either. He stated, “Something’s got to happen.” During an interview on the Fox Business Network, Marc Lotter, former Special Assistant to President Trump and former Press Secretary to Vice President Pence, said, “The Democratic Party abandoned American workers years ago.”
Check out the full video below to see Lotter detail why he believes the recent Democratic Party wins aren’t a sign of things to come in the 2018 mid-term elections. Take a look to see the positive legislation he feels Republicans will pass soon.
