It never ceases to amaze us what an incredible upgrade Wyoming got when they booted Liz Cheney out of Congress. Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) is one of the quieter members of the House, but she is as sharp as a tack and refuses to pretend that all the nonsense that goes on in Washington, DC is real.
This week, she absolutely shredded New York Judge Juan Merchan over his kangaroo court antics against President Donald Trump.
As Rep. Hageman notes during a committee hearing, gag orders are traditionally used against the prosecution in criminal cases. The intent of this is to make sure that the prosecution doesn’t make any public statements that could taint the jury pool and to ensure that the defendant receives a fair trial.
Judge Merchan has turned that precedent completely upside-down by placing a strict gag order on Donald Trump. Many prosecutors and defense attorneys say they’ve never seen that happen before.
Trump has a gag order placed on him during the middle of a presidential campaign, and meanwhile, Judge Merchan has allowed Michael Cohen, Stormy Daniels, and other prosecution witnesses to run around blabbing their mouths off and selling merchandise to enrich themselves off of this show trial.
Judge Merchan should be yanked off the bench, disbarred, and prevented from ever practicing law again for his illegal antics against President Trump.
