Not all Muslims oppose Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily banning travel from or to America from several Islamic countries.
In fact, there are some North American Muslims, like Raheel Raza, shown in this clip from Fox Business, who support Trump’s order and see it as very rational, sensible and even protective of Muslims who live in the United States.
Raza, author of the book “Their Jihad, Not My Jihad, or How Can You Possibly Be an Anti-Terrorist Muslim?” explains that not all Muslims can be categorized the same way, and that there are indeed Muslims who support President Donald Trump’s immigration and visa policies.
As Raza says in this clip, Trump’s order cannot be termed a “Muslim ban” — for several reasons. Both Raza and other Muslims reiterate that the ban is only from those countries already deemed to be dangerous by former President Obama.
Also, the ban is temporary, so, in theory, it will only be in place for a limited amount of time. There are many Muslims in America who identify first as Americans, and so Trump’s executive order for them is a matter of national security.
Also, it’s clear to these citizens that President Trump is a worldly person who’s done business in the Middle East and understands people of other cultures. Muslims have been targets of many terrorist attacks around the world already and actually make up a majority of the victims of global terror.
Trump’s executive order does less to single out Muslims as a group than it does to promote one nation (the United States) and strengthen its security. Watch as Raza explains it all for Fox Business’ Stuart Varney.
