"For the first time in American history," Miller told the assembled diplomats, the Trump administration is directing "all of our law enforcement and intelligence agencies to work together to disrupt, identify, defund, de-bank, arrest, prosecute these political terrorists." The vehicle is National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 — NSPM-7 — a directive that marshals the full weight of the federal government against radical left-wing violence for the first time in the country's history.
Miller didn't soften the language. He called left-wing extremists "enemies of civilization" and a "cancer." He warned that America's institutions had "grown too soft and too cowardly" to confront the threat — and that the current administration intended to correct that.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stood alongside Miller, describing the far-left as a "mortal threat" and confirming that more terrorist designations for radical left-wing groups are coming.
The ministerial wasn't a domestic press event. Sixty-seven countries sent representatives to Washington to hear the case that transnational far-left terrorism represents a coordinated, cross-border threat — not a series of unconnected local incidents. Left-wing political violence in Germany alone has surged more than 40% in the past year. The pattern Miller and Rubio described isn't an American problem alone. It's a Western civilization problem, and this gathering was the first formal international effort to treat it as one.
